Terrorism And Productivity

Human nature being what it is, when our friends, loved ones, neighbors or fellow citizens are harmed, we step back to reflect.

We might watch or listen to the news instead of doing our jobs. We might not even be able to get to our jobs.

Something abnormal has happened. It makes sense to take some sort of break from business as usual.

How, then, do we regain our footing? First, we must affirm that we are alive. We must affirm that we are safe. This is the job of management.

Good leadership will ensure the health -- physically, mentally and emotionally -- of a productive work force. Good leadership will recognize -- and not ignore -- the trauma that a terrorist attack can inflict even on those who are not injured physically. Good leadership will transform this adversity into renewed energy.

Once the break is over, once the work force is assured that they are safe, the productive manager / good leader will rally the troops to a higher level of performance for the good of all. A productive work force with good leadership can withstand any terrorist act.

We of APS share the sorrow of the loved ones who lost family members, friends and co-workers in the London terrorists attacks. We pray for your loss and we honor you with our commitment to strive for greater efficiency and productivity.

In the world considering the leadership in the productivity profession, the leadership trait in EQ is much more important than in IQ.
They can communicate in the same essence without disrupt negative mood rather build up a stronger relationship.
